[Note: Some of you on this list may be here after watching me first on Tucker Carlson Tonight…many moons ago. Back then, I introduced the “Digital Freedom Alliance” a project that ultimately led to the largest pro-Trump, pro-GOP Super PAC and an unprecedented corporate political effort, thanks to the crypto lobby. We helped displace two members of the Squad in this year’s primaries, and are actively helping elect President Trump and ensure a pro-GOP Senate.]
I recently left the company I founded seven years ago, Messari, to embark on the most challenging project of my career: Project Solomon.
Today, I’m excited to share why.
Below I'll outline:
+ Why I left my company to focus full-time on 1) the re-election of President Trump, and 2) the buildout of a "parallel Washington" using modern technologies. (And why I think 1 and 2 are of existential importance.)
+ What this will likely look like over the course of the next four years, and my 40-40-100-1000-400 strategy.
+ When and where you can expect to read more about my plans for Project Solomon, and a draft publication schedule for the initial phases of this effort.
+ Who I think I am to be so arrogant / batshit crazy to even consider taking on something this audacious, broad, and contrarian.
+ How you could help as I get started with the first two phases of the project: audience development (sharing) and steelmanning ideas (engaging in the comments).
WHY: Save the West, Save the World
I am alarmed that more people are not terrified about the political, social, economic, and technical disruptions that seem certain to arise in the next decade.
But I am far from a pessimist -- I have spent months thinking about where I can help advance solutions to the overlapping challenges that have brought us to the "Fourth Turning," "Changing World Order," "Great Reset."
Three core ideas will drive my planned work:
1. "Control" over the Open Internet, Crypto, and AI are the three most important governance battles of the next decade. Libertarian populist governments will be much more likely to protect individual liberties, private property, and open-source development, of AGI in particular. Meanwhile, neo-liberal / neo-marxist / communist governments are currently seeking irreversible levels of power and societal control.
2. The U.S. Constitution remains the greatest guarantor of liberty in the world, and America remains the most important political battleground for that reason. Yet the Constitution is just a document. Its efficacy depends on DC power structures and personnel -- and whether they will faithfully follow or ignore the Constitution.
3. The re-election of Donald Trump and the successful implementation of Constitutionalist policies over the next four years will give us the greatest chance of tackling the political, social, economic, and technical challenges we will confront imminently. A “soft landing” during the coming period of crisis is unlikely, but must be attempted in order to prevent mass global violence.
WHAT: Content Calendar
I'll share my in-depth thesis for Project Solomon soon. But with just two months until the U.S. Presidential election, my vision for a company is less important than U.S. political victories in November.
Hence my 40-40-100-1000-400 schedule:
40 Days to Win: I’ve been dissatisfied with the political content I’ve seen in support of President Trump. Much of it is good, some of it is harmful. (My twitter has had both as I've been testing where the lines are.)
My content will focus on the positive impact of Trump (win swing voters), the justified villainization of Kamala Harris and the system that installed her (depress Kamala enthusiasm), and the political activation of young men (boost Trump voter turnout).
Week 1: Schelling Points: Rules for (Conservative) Radicals, the Google Boycott, Debate Reaction, Rally around Bitcoin, and Importance of the Babylon Bee.
Week 2: Political Liability Jiu Jitsu: How to tackle hot button GOP political liabilities with friends and neuter critics. (i.e. top debate counter arguments)
Week 3, Enemy selection: personifying evil in the Democrat establishment by singling out weak men as bogeymen (and highlighting one surprising man)
Week 4, Top issues: Comprehensive tear sheets on the contrast in how Trump & Kamala approach the constitution, immigration, war, the economy, and tech.
Week 5: The Global Political Fight: Why 2024 and 2028 could be the last 1-2 elections that matter, and why this election is about a system vs. a leader.
Week 6: Leveraging Assets: The assets we can use to activate young men, Christians, and other swing voter blocs (points of max leverage) in the final stretch.
Week 7: Two visions for the future: The global, continental, and domestic political realignments likely with President Kamala vs. President Trump.
Week 8: Savior vs. Stay of Execution: Cancer vs. Chemo, Permanent DC, the Tower, the Spectrum, and the Square, Odds of Bipartisanship, Crisis Leadership
40 Days to Nail the Transition: [Content dependent on whether it’s Trump or Harris that wins...I don't have Kamala drafts because they're too dark.]
100 Days to Execute: Heads down building the initial contours of Solomon Newco.
1000 Days to Build: The glorious schlep building a parallel dissident information ecosystem!
400 Days to 2028: Focus attention on AGI alignment and the 2028 GOP candidate.
WHEN & WHERE: X and This Newsletter
I will begin dual publishing to X (drafts) and Substack (edited posts) starting Monday, September 9.
Yes, I am terrified about the above publication schedule, and whether I have bitten off more than I can possibly chew. My street cred hangs in the balance, so I’ll Write My Way Out.
Who: “Are you ok, bro?”
Importance: You may scoff at the idea that I think we’re approaching a decade where there’s a 30% chance of catastrophes measured in billions of deaths, if not civilizational collapse. BUT I’ve historically been grounded in realism, while also being numerate enough to understand that 30% is a serious, but not “most likely” outcome for the world, and confident enough to not act like an NPC in the face of those sorts of odds.
There is no other choice but to find out how best you can contribute to solutions when you have my thesis.
Contrarian & Right: I have always been intentional with my career, and have never gone “all in” on an idea without careful consideration.
In 2013, I dropped out of business school to focus full-time on the emerging crypto industry. ✅
In 2020, I was early and radically vocal about the Black Swan of COVID-19. ✅
More recently, I have been consistently over the target on political strategy, and likely outcomes, including a prediction on June 30, that Biden would drop out of the race, Kamala would be installed, and RFK Jr. would join the Trump campaign to focus on making America Healthy Again. (Now THAT is a parlay.) ✅✅✅
Information, Politics, Tech: Over the last ten years, I built back-to-back $100 million information businesses, wrote the playbook that led to the country’s largest Super PAC and integration of pro-crypto policy into the GOP’s official party platform, and invested in 100+ tech companies. I have spent enough time in DC to know that it is irreparably broken and captured and must be rebuilt with modern tools from the outside. Once new boats are built, we should burn the wooden fleet.
I’m fine. The world is not. The bad news is no one is coming to save us.
The good news is that we can save ourselves.
Bring me a sword.
